Your conversations are yours. MyLokAI processes AI chats on your device. You decide if optional features use iCloud or connect to another service.
Who runs MyLokAI
MyLokAI is developed by Olanrewaju Oyinbooke. This policy covers the MyLokAI app and this website. For privacy questions, email oyinbookeola@outlook.com.
Your chats and AI processing
Conversations, messages, attachments, memories, personas, and settings are stored on your device by default. Apple Intelligence on supported devices and compatible open-source models downloaded for use with MLX generate responses locally. MyLokAI does not operate a hosted AI service and does not send your conversation to its developer for inference. No MyLokAI account is required.
Optional iCloud Sync
In app versions that include iCloud Sync, it is off by default and must be turned on separately on each device. When enabled, supported conversations, messages, attachments, memories, and custom personas sync through your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. The developer cannot access that private database. App settings, downloaded models, your Brave Search key, and diagnostics stay on each device. Sync uses your iCloud storage. Apple's iCloud terms and settings apply.
Message text, titles, text read from files, memories, and personas use CloudKit end-to-end encryption. Attached images and PDF page previews, together with their file names, use iCloud's standard encryption, or end-to-end encryption if you have enabled Advanced Data Protection. Deleting synced content on one device can delete it on your other devices with sync enabled. Turning sync off keeps the local copy; to remove data from iCloud, turn sync off on every device and manage MyLokAI data in your iCloud storage settings.
Model downloads and optional online tools
Downloading an open-source model connects to Hugging Face and its delivery infrastructure. The provider receives ordinary network request details needed to deliver the files, such as your IP address and the model requested. Your chat content is not part of a model download.
Web search is off until you enable it and provide your own Brave Search API key. When enabled and used, short search queries from a conversation are sent to Brave Search with that key. Your full chat and attached files are not sent to Brave. Your key is kept in the device Keychain. Weather is also optional. When used, the name of the city you ask about is sent to Apple Weather; MyLokAI does not use your device location for it. These providers handle requests under their own privacy policies.
Permissions and on-device data
MyLokAI may request access to the microphone and speech recognition for voice input, photos or files you select for attachments, and calendar access if you choose calendar tools. You can change these permissions in device Settings. The app keeps local diagnostics for troubleshooting. It does not upload those diagnostics to the developer or use an in-app advertising tracker.
Exporting, deleting, and contacting us
You can export conversations and delete conversations, memories, and personas in the app. You control any exported copy and where you share it. If iCloud Sync is on, supported deletions also sync. Uninstalling the app removes its local data but may leave data in iCloud; manage that separately in your Apple Account settings. We cannot recover a deleted conversation for you.
If you email support or send TestFlight feedback, we receive whatever information you choose to include so we can reply. Please avoid sending private chats, documents, or API keys. You can ask us to delete support correspondence, subject to applicable recordkeeping requirements.
This website
This site uses no analytics scripts, advertising trackers, account forms, or tracking cookies. Its fonts and images are hosted with the site. Vercel hosts it and may process normal request information, including IP addresses and technical logs, to deliver and secure the pages. See Vercel's Privacy Notice.
Changes
We will update this page and its effective date if MyLokAI's data practices change.
